Kiddo is walking. Well as long as he has something in his hand he is walking. The illusion of holding on to something gives him the confidence to get up and walk. It's too cute. The hubby caught it on Video while I was on the second therapist for the day.

Such a treat
We took Juan to Olivello on Sunday. What a treat. They served an excellent Mediterranean lunch and we were lucky enough to get probably the only two seats remaining. They are very popular because they are very good. You can read more about them on my consumer blog Shopadoodle. We sat outside next to the dam under the big trees. Close to us kids were playing with a swingball and climbing on a Jungle Gym. Ninja baby was fearless in all respects. He happily ate everything I gave him although he spit the cous cous out and looked at me accusingly. I could you put that into my mouth. It must have been the onions.
When he was done eating he stormed the kids on all fours. Unfortunately he is still not walking and could not run after them or join them on the boat. He did take an instant liking to swingball and after seeing the other kids do it immediately took up the bat. He is just so cute.

It's lovely to take him to a place where he is happy and free to move around. Of course the fantastic food is a great incentive as well.

Dr. Phil in a purple suit
This morning the kid switched to Barney by accident while he was playing with the remote. He went of to take the room apart and being as tired as war horse I decided watching it would be easier than changing it. What I am about to reveal might shock some people but the truth needs to be out so here goes, Barney is actually Dr.Phil. He is just wearing a big purple suit and talking in a helium voice, Barney that is.He is the most annoying prehistoric animal on earth and I know for sure I am not the only parent who has imagined ways of bringing about his extinction. He is just brimful of advice about everything from talking about your feelings to nurturing your attachments, in this case to a blanket. That Dr. Phil knows how to get his airtime!
In the way of the true Ninja baby ours is attached to nothing. He isn't fond of sleeping but will do so when required and he laughs so much. Today was hilarity day. He developed this weird little tummy chuckle overnight, and he uses it for the strangest things. I read heating instructions to him and he was doubled over with laughter. Someone shook a tablecloth on a soapy and it was too funny.
He cried a lot at sleepy time tonight and I couldn't help wondering how much of my mental and emotional, crying, aching and pain he actually picked up, no matter how much I was trying to hide it in my purple suit.

Kisses
The kid is very stingy with his kisses. He just doesn't dole them out to anyone and I you dare ask or try to force one on him he reacts like you are trying to get him to eat broccoli. I suspect it is because his father kissed him non-stop for the first 12 weeks of his life, maybe even longer. Face it, babies are super kissable. But now we have the anti-kisser in the house. Now and again he will dispense a rare little kiss with his open mouth, but frankly it's easier to get cheap fuel.
So the other morning, like every morning, hubby takes his hand and walks to the bed. Hubby kisses me. The Ninja baby looked at this and then he walked right up to me and planted a big wet one on me. The sheets had to be changed because I melted right there and evaporated loosely into the morning air. He has since given me a few kisses on his own and it's like winning the lottery every time.
Perhaps he secretly knew all the this time how precious kisses were and I has just been waiting to plant them on us and dazzle us with their specialness.

So not interested in the Easter bunny

The Easter bunny was spotted in our garden late afternooninsh.
We thought the chocolate eggs may not melt any more, oh how wrong we were. Not that it mattered. The Ninja kid wasn't interested in the bunny or the shiny eggs hiding out in the grass in trees.
He made a beeline to the air-conditioning unit and was determined to take it apart and examine it. We did manage to stuff some chocolate into him only to regret it greatly later on when he was whizzing around the house at twice the normal speed.

Hubby came down after putting him to bed and said that we must never ever give him chocolate again as he was dismantling his cot with his teeth.
